SWBSS AISA 2027 is the 8th edition of the conference series “Salt Weathering of Buildings and Stone Sculptures”, started in 2008. Some of the previous editions were held in Copenhagen (2008), Limassol (2011), Brussel (2014), Potsdam (2017), Delft (2021), and Nara (2023).

The SWBSS ASIA 2027 conference will be held in 2027 in Shanghai, China.

Shanghai is one of the four direct-administered municipalities of China, located on the southern estuary of the Yangtze River. It is one of the world's major centers for finance, business, economics, research, science and technology, manufacturing, transportation, tourism, and culture. The Port of Shanghai is the world's busiest container port. The city and its nearby areas boast numerous cultural heritage sites and museums.

The conference aims to bring together academics, engineers, conservators, restorers, architects, students and experienced researchers and to contribute thereby to the promotion of research and development within the field of salt weathering of porous materials.
